Why should you buy a car from T-Birds by Nick?

I am mainly in the business of selling parts and the repair and servicing of Thunderbirds. I do not sell cars as a business, however, I fix and drive hundreds of Thunderbirds a year and I've been doing so for over 25 years. Occasionally I find those rare cars that are one in a thousand that have been well maintained, garaged, taken care of and are obviously better than most. Most Thunderbirds (over 90%) have been neglected, abused, or butchered by inexperienced mechanics, their owner, or both. These cars have been through the ringer and are, for all intent and purposes, worn out despite the fact that they have a new paint job. Unfortunately most buyers do not have the skills to tell the difference between a good car and a paint job.

The paint job is 90% of what is on the market. It is generally a car that has been poorly maintained, neglected all its life and thrown together at that last moment with a shiny, new cheap paint job. Because the car has a nice paint job most people think, "Oh, it must be a good car because look how shiny it is and the owner says it's a good car!" There is an old saying that states, "The thrill of the low price is long forgotten while the pain and reality of cheap quality (and being screwed) remains." This means that you don't buy a book by its cover. Don't buy a car because the paint is shiny. And don't trust the owner will be honest in revealing the cars deficiencies. Most Thunderbirds have been butchered and maintained poorly and you will be the recipient of those expenses once you own the car.

To maximize your investment purchase a car that has really been well maintained and garaged throughout the years by someone who cared - generally original owner cars. I find these cars here and there and when I do, if the price is right, I purchase them and pass them on to you so you can enjoy the car without putting your life savings into a piece of junk.

How do you tell a bad car from a good car? It takes experience driving many Thunderbirds to have a frame of reference. I don't expect every buyer to have this frame of reference since most have never driven a Thunderbird before. I have driven thousands of Thunderbirds and it takes me about 2 seconds to tell the difference between a good one and a bad one.

The few cars that I buy and sell have all been well maintained (or not butchered) and cared for throughout their life and after I buy them they are fully inspected, driven, maintained, and if the car is not to the level of my perfection it is repaired as needed by me until it is - solely for the purpose of selling a quality car. All of the cars I sell I bought to resell and not to keep. All of the cars are keepers, but I cannot keep every car!

Most of the cars I find don't have the greatest paint jobs, but I don't judge a car on the paint I judge the car on the overall condition as a whole. When you buy a car from Joe Consumer is it fully inspected by a Thunderbird Specialist? Unless a shop has the words "Thunderbird Specialist" in their business name they are not Thunderbird specialists and are probably not qualified to judge your car. Gas station mechanics are not Thunderbird Specialists. It is your hard earned money and as the old Knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade says, "You must choose wisely!" Remember what happened to the guy who didn't choose wisely?
